Methodological principles of effective and safe open-pit mining at deep horizons of mineral deposits

The paper presents the investigation results of grindibility of copper-nickel ore sample, differences in the behavior of narrow grain size categories using rod and ball mill grinding. The characteristic mechanisms of destruction of the categories have been identified; the energy input on grinding has been estimated. Basing on the obtained data the choice of a two-stage scheme of grinding with rod mill at the first stage, and the ball mill at the second one for efficient ore preparation for flotation has been substantiated.

Savchenko S.N., The principles of geomechanical monitoring of linearly-extended objects (as applied to oil-and-gas pipelines)

A specific program package (CAD VS) to be applied in underground mine ventilation problem solutions has been shown. The program functionality and interface have been described. A technical approach to optimize number and location of ventilation regulators has been proposed.

The Saamsky fault (the Khibiny massif) – an abnormal nature of the recent deformations

The Laubscher’s MRMR rock mass classification system has been described in this paper. The ratings definition of ores and host rocks of diamond deposit located in the Russian Federation has been carried out. It has been shown that ores and host rocks, according to MRMR classification, belong to the 4th class and have poor stability (good cavability), except for the rocks of the Upper assise. The mining method selection and underground openings support recommendations have been given.
